Dan Cavanaugh

Dan Cavanagh is an in-demand pianist, composer, arranger, and educator in Minneapolis/St. Paul. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and after working at MakeMusic!, Inc. for a year, he set off to Eugene, OR to get his masters degree in jazz studies from the University of Oregon. There he was a Graduate Teaching Fellow, and upon graduation he was named the 2004 outstanding graduate student in jazz studies. Currently he is on the faculty of the East Metro Music Academy in St. Paul. Beginning fall 2005 Dan will serve as Assistant Professor of Music and Assistant Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Texas, Arlington. His music is published by UNC Jazz Press.
