Charles Schiermeyer

Charles Schiermeyer is a composer and performer currently living in New York City. He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, holding both a Bachelors and Masters degree from the school. Originally from Seattle, Charles moved to NYC in 2003 to study with Grammy-winning composer Michael Abene. He plays all saxophones, piano, flute, clarinet, guitar, and some trumpet. Charles has written professionally for Jessica Reedy, Jonathan Nelson, Javen, New York Youth Symphony, Brass Band Of Battle Creek, and other professional ensembles. He is also a recipient of awards and scholarships from ASCAP. His composition "Permission" was performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center's The Allen Room on May 17, 2007.
