Biography from Original Program (1963):

The young Israeli violinist was born in 1945 and began his instrumental studies at six at the Tel Aviv Conservatory. He had already made his debut on local radio by thte time he entered the Tel Aviv Academy of Music at eleven. Mr. Perlman came to this country in 1958 to study and that year he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. For the past three years he has been a student of Ivan Galamian and last season he made his Cargnegie Hall debut as soloist with the National Orchestral Association.
