Audition Requirements
The audition will last eight to ten minutes and will consist of the
following:
1. Written Excerpt (Guitar, Piano, Bass, and Drums have 2 pages of
required material)
2. Improvisation. Please prepare two of the following:
"Billies Bounce" Charlie Parker
"Thriving on a Riff" Charlie Parker
"Days of Wine and Roses" Miles Davis
"Lover Man" Jimmy Rogers
Note: If you wish to be considered for an auxiliary instrument, please
prepare an additional excerpt or a solo piece of your choice. Flute and
clarinet are desirable as auxiliary instruments.
Alto Sax
Excerpts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Tenor Sax

Bari Sax

Trumpet
Those wishing to audition for lead trumpet should prepare this excerpt.
