The Jazz band generally rehearses weekly from October to May on Sundays between 6-8:30pm at the DiMenna Center in NYC. Auditions for the 2013/2014 season will be held in late summer/early fall. Audition information for the 2013/2014 Season will be posted by June 15, 2013, so please note that all information currently on the site (including excerpts) is informational only and may change for the 2013/2014 Season!

2012/2013 Season Auditon Information

Fees
The non-refundable application fee for the 2012-2013 season is $75. In addition to the application fee, a $50 non-refundable Registration fee upon acceptance into the program. Limited work study subsidies are available. Please contact the administrative office if you are intersted in work study opportunities.

Audition Dates
Auditions for the Jazz program will be held in September 2012.

Audition Requirements
The audition will last eight to ten minutes and will consist of the following:

1. Written excerpt. Download excerpts for your instrument here.
2. Improvisation. Please prepare the following songs, which are included in the audition packets below:
   • Jerome Kern: "All The Things You Are"
   • Charlie Parker: "Billie's Bounce"
3. Sight reading.

Note: If you wish to be considered for an auxiliary instrument, please prepare an additional excerpt of your choice. Flute and clarinet are desirable as auxiliary instruments.
