| Greetings
from the
Executive Director

Our programs have been enriched for the
milestone 45th season, providing more
students with a broader and deeper array of artistic resources and larger audiences than ever before to appreciate their performances. It’s an exciting time, to be sure, and one which will fulfill the promise of “the most thrilling music experience of your life!”
More Students
Enrollment has nearly doubled in the past six years, bringing last season’s total to 245. The excellence of our programs has impelled
students to share their passionate excitement with friends and colleagues, and the numbers continue to grow as a result.
Expanded Artistic Resources
Not only are there more programs to choose from, but the 45th season introduces
enrichment resources in each of them.
The orchestra has added “Meet the
Maestros” to its offerings, bringing to
rehearsals outstanding professional
conductors to work with the musicians and to share their insights with them.
The Chamber Music Program and the
Making Score composition seminars have restructured into two experience levels to
accommodate more specialized instruction and attention to students’ needs.
Jazz Band Classic has not only
improved its venues but has added two
performances to its schedule to meet
increased audience demand.
Symphony Singers, in its second season, continues to blaze a path with more
challenging, varied, and fun choral music.
Larger Audiences
What would all this “music education” be
without appreciative listeners to enjoy the fruits of our musicians’ labors? Subscription and
single-ticket sales expanded last season
beyond the prior year. Families and friends
always attend, of course, but it is the general music-loving public who attend regularly in large
numbers to comprise the bulk of our audiences and to enjoy the high quality of our
performances.
I invite students to take advantage of the many opportunities we offer. I welcome their audiences to
enjoy this season’s many public performances which satisfy musically, nourish the soul, and inspire the
heart.
Come and see what I mean!
