Marketing/Development Intern
New York Youth Symphony

The New York Youth Symphony is seeking an intern for spring 2013 to provide marketing, development, and general office support during our 50th anniversary season.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with outreach efforts to expand our audience base at various concerts 
  • Preparing and assembling concert materials, including program books and program inserts
  • Attending and providing support at NYYS concerts and events that occur during the internship
  • Assisting with eblast designs for NYYS concert announcements
  • Assisting in foundation and donor prospect research
  • Assisting in the planning, production and promotion of fundraising events
  • Assisting in the reorganization of the NYYS music library
  • Assisting with updating the NYYS website and CRM database as needed
  • Providing general administrative support in the office as needed

The Intern reports to the Marketing and Development Associate. He or she must be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements:
Excellent communication and customer service skills; detail oriented personality; facility with MS Office applications; facility with web and internet communications; willingness to help with a variety of programs and tasks; college junior or senior or graduate student preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This is an unpaid internship
  • College credit may be arranged

The supervisor will work in close proximity to the intern and staff. The intern will meet with the DOP at least twice per week to discuss the direction of each project and to provide a status update.
